Debbie Lynn Moody, East Tennessee Native, Christian Artist

About Debbie

Debbie Lynn Moody is an East Tennessee native and Christian artist whose creativity first sparked in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As a young girl, she discovered her love for art, and one pivotal moment came in high school when she was introduced to Andrew Wyeth’s Christina’s World. From there, she explored drawing, inks, watercolor, and acrylics, eventually creating murals and wall art for homes, churches, businesses, and even a hospital.

As her family grew, she shifted her focus toward homeschooling her four children while continuing to create greeting cards, photography projects, and small-scale artwork. She shared art with her children often, each of them developing creative paths of their own.

Today, with her children grown and thriving in their own artistic directions, Debbie is once again seated before the canvas—exploring, observing, and painting with renewed passion. An admirer of nature and the beauty in God’s creation, she intertwines the two through curiosity and gentle wonder. In a world of rushing and noise, her work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and believe again.

Artist Statement

God’s creation sings of birth, rebirth, and vivid reminders of promises to come. His love is revealed in every intimate detail.

I observe a wandering tree stretching its arms upward into the vast, unreachable universe, bending into new shapes with each gust of wind. Watching it praise in such dramatic sways, I reach out to touch its bark—thick, old, cracked. Do those cracks reveal new life emerging? I sense the same within my own spirit.

I wander through fields of yellow ochre grass. The softness tickles my toes. The earth beneath my feet chatters with hidden business as usual. When I listen closer, my own heartbeat matches the rhythm. Life. A gift from God. My feet may be clay, but my heart is His.

So I step forward to see what He has in store: a wonder of His creation, fractured but full of hope, shared through artistic testimonies of His handiwork.

Come along and experience faith, beauty, and perseverance through the artistry of painting God’s wonders.

And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”
